On 23 January, Sonic Imperfections host Nigel Bryant interviewed Waywords and Meansigns project director Derek Pyle for London’s experimental radio station Resonance FM. After playing excerpts of Steve Gregoropoulos and Neil Campbell‘s 2016 recordings of Waywords and Meansigns, Nigel and Derek spoke about Jon Wahl’s forthcoming recording and then premiered an excerpt of John Cerreta‘s contribution to the 2017 release of Waywords and Meansigns. Nigel and Derek also spoke about the summer 2016 Waywords and Meansigns performance at Usurp Art in West Harrow.
Waywords and Meansigns was also featured in Loring Wirbel’s top musical picks of 2016 — we got “the top special album of the year”!
And Waywords and Meansigns director Derek Pyle picked his own favorites from 2016, for Perfect Sound Forever. The list includes SIA and Streets Poets, Inc.
