Judith Brokking was born in Rotterdam. Judith was a member of Theatre Company Baal between 1981-1989, where she worked with prominent Dutch composers. Her acting career is extremely diverse, working with many theatre companies. Also a coach and a teacher, Judith gives text treatment workshops, working from the premise that there is music in language, the musicality of text and vocal work.
Judith wrote and performed ‘Fijne Dag’ (‘Have a nice day’), a duet/duel with violist Julia Barnes, directed by Julia Henneman. In this structured improvisation the musical and verbal elements inspire and react to one another, often eliciting Judith’s signature verbal cascade. It was this collaboration that set the stage for the Finnegans Wake performance with Julia Barnes, Yung-Tuan Ku and Julia Henneman in 2017.
