Rich Chapman has performed in a number of bands usually playing bass or guitar. He builds instruments and experiments with sounds. He currently plays a hand-built ‘cello’ and a Technics keyboard in The Plan. He also plays in Private Trousers (double-neck hand-built guitar/ukulele, lead vocal), Rare Birds (bass) and writes and performs on his own. He is a part of Southend Records.
Rich Chapman contributed to the Opendoor Edition of Waywords and Meansigns in 2017, recording page 594 line 1 through page 595 line 29.
