John Shakespear

John Shakespear of Waywords and MeansignsThe product of countless stages and dusty backroads from Cambodia to Cambridge, Thailand to Montreal, Portland to Princeton, John Shakespear‘s music captures the restless tension between the joy of stillness and the need for change. Strands of indie folk, soul, and rock and roll become part of a conversation between homes and dreams. As a core member of Boston-based bands Atlas LabGood Harbor, and Dr. Fidelity, John has shared stages with members of Broken Social Scene and in touring acts such as Lewis del Mar and Busty and the Bass. He released his debut solo EP, “No Wires,” on March 25th, 2016, and toured from Boston to San Francisco. His second solo EP, “Little Light,” was released on November 12th, 2016.

John Shakespear contributed to the Opendoor Edition of Waywords and Meansigns in 2017, recording “High Tigh Tigh”, page 607 line 17 through line 36.
